Fried Apple Pie Recipe

We at the B&G Pie Company are so excited to share our famous pies with you and your family. We have been making memories and traditions for over 70 years. It is our privilege to share some of our favorite recipes with you!
For years, the fried apple pie has been our number one, best selling pie, and for good reason. Our fried apple pie recipe was perfected almost 40 years ago, and we’ve been whipping them up ever since. The sweet and juicy apple filling is wrapped inside our handmade crust and sealed tight, then fried to perfection with a golden brown and flakey crust. Can you smell it now? No matter if you’re eating it on the go or packed in your lunch, with every bite you’re transported back to Grandma’s kitchen, enjoying a light summer breeze through the window as you bite into these wholesome fried apple pies.
Our team often says “whoever gets this pie is getting something special!” With the help of B&G McIntosh Fried Apple Pies, you’ll always be ready when you’re craving a sweet, special moment with the ones you love most.
Hand pies are as sweet and southern as it gets. But don’t take our word for it! Check out how we make our fried apple pies on a recent episode of Somewhere South: American as Hand Pies on PBS.
How to Make Fried Apple Pies
Nothing says love quite like a warm apple pie. But goodness, a homemade apple pie is a lot of work! Not to mention, a whole apple pie is just too much to eat before it starts to get soggy. The beauty of B&G McIntosh Fried Apple Pies is that they rarely get soggy, are perfect for at home or on the go, and can be warmed and crisped up in a pan in no time at all.
If you’re craving a warm, fried apple pie to create a special moment at home, we have the perfect fried apple pie recipe for you! You’ll love this semi-homemade recipe for individual fried apple pies, where we do the heavy lifting and you make it extra special in your home kitchen with just a few pantry items we know you keep on hand.
For this no-recipe recipe, all you need is a cast iron skillet, a B&G Apple Pie, a hunk of butter, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and a sprinkling of sugar and cinnamon. Is there anything better than a hot, flakey fried apple pie with a scoop of cold, creamy vanilla ice cream? We don’t think so. Give it a try, we have a feeling you’re going to love it!
Recipe: The Perfect B&G Apple Pie
Ingredients
- B & G Apple Pie
- 1 large hunk of butter (not margarine)
- ½ teaspoon sugar
- Sprinkle of cinnamon
- 1 heaping scoop of vanilla ice cream
Preparation
- Without fail, pull out your Grandma’s cast iron skillet! Turn on the stove and heat skillet up nice and hot.
- Melt butter and add B & G Apple Pie. We say about 2 minutes a side but really when the smell starts bringing people into the kitchen, flip to other side. After the pie looks even more golden brown, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. The sugar will start to caramelize but be careful to not burn the cinnamon.
- Plate or put in a bowl and add your favorite vanilla ice cream right on top. Share it with someone you leave or devour it yourself. You deserve it!
When you keep a box of B&G McIntosh Fried Apple Pies in your pantry, a hot apple pie is always ready for life’s sweetest moments.
